Tom is a veteran who previously qualified for housing services and was assisted by St. Francis House Veterans Services. He has now been back on his feet for a while. But when his wife became seriously ill, supporting her and 4 children requires that that he seek a better job.
In April, St. Francis House was able to help pay his electric bill. He is starting another job next week, but needed assistance with this month’s gas and water bills. St. Francis House Social Services was there to fill the gap, paying those bills so his utilities were not shut off.
Even more, thanks to the new St. Francis House Reintegration program, the Veterans Services Department will be able to help him with all the skills needed to find better paying employment- resumé writing, employment leads, and additional training to help him move from simply having a job to having a career.
