It takes a network of services to support our Veterans who have experienced homelessness. Our Social Services department often helps Veterans both when they move in and after they move into their own housing.
“Veterans often come in for clothing when they first enter St. Francis House. It’s important for them to have things to wear for their job search as well as clothes for their free time. If there are family members with them, we can provide clothing for them as well. ” Says Phyllis Jones, head of Social Services. And when they move out, we try to help with household items and furniture where possible. Some Veterans also come in for help with food or prescriptions that aren’t covered by the VA. We are happy to help out as much as we can.”
