Most people Mrs. Lindale’s age look forward to enjoying their retirement and playing with their grandchildren, not raising and supporting them. However, when family needs you, you step up!
Mrs. Lindale and her family come to St. Francis House regularly for food, clothes, and housewares. She receives SSI and Social Security and also qualifies for food stamps, but with eight people to care for, that doesn’t always provide. She has two daughters, one of whom is disabled and has always lived at home. When her second daughter began to show signs of a mental disorder and could not provide for her children, Mrs. Lindale stepped in. She now has custody of all six children from twelve years old to a one-year-old toddler.
St. Francis House is happy to help out with basic needs so these three generations under one roof can enjoy their family and know they always have a place where they can turn if they need!
