Water Leaks get Expensive

Mark, an Army Veteran, and his wife, Janice,  are both disabled. Mark receives VA benefits and Janet receives SSI, but a fixed income doesn’t leave a lot of room for unexpected expenses. When their water bill increased dramatically a few months ago, they had it checked and found a leak.

They notified their landlord but got no response and it was not been repaired. Their water bill continued to climb and they fell more and behind. After receiving a cut-off notice, they came to Social Services at St. Francis House. St. Francis House contacted the utility company and negotiated on their behalf and thanks to your donations, St. Francis House was able to pay enough to keep the water on.
