We’ve all heard the saying that “it takes a village’. That’s very true at St. Francis House. Army Veteran Jason, Amy, and their daughter (not their real names) arrived at Supportive Services for Veteran Families with nothing except the clothes on their backs. They had just gotten into town and immediately began looking for veteran programs. When they were not eligible for our residential program, SSVF sprang into action. They got them approved for their services and arranged for a safe, secure place to stay until their caseworker could secure more permanent housing. Then they called Community Outreach. Diapers, food, shoes, and bus passes came next. Thanks to all our departments working together, the family is settled while moving toward more permanent solutions!
