Jeremy is a single father of three. His wife was chemically dependent, left the family, and recently died of an overdose. St. Francis House has helped out often with food and clothing. Recently, we found out that the family has been without electricity since May. Jeremy told us that the landlord said he was working on getting the permit needed to fix it, but so far nothing has changed. Since then, St. Francis House Community Outreach has become the family’s cooling center during these hot days. “He comes in for food and clothing and has always been a great client. So when he told us what had happened, and asked to charge his phone, of course, we said yes,“ stated Amanda Benning. “He brings the kids and they play; they’ve become like family to all of us.” Jeremy uses most of his time trying to get things done by phone to get his electricity turned on. And until then, St. Francis House will be here to help in any way we can.
