Sometimes It Starts With a Bus Pass

LD moved here about six months ago. With nowhere to live and no transportation, he got a referral for a TAP pass. The bus pass got him to a shelter and then to some job interviews. Three months ago, he found a job and began saving money for housing. Two months ago, he was housed. He continues to save money on transportation because the TAP program will provide a free bus pass for up to a year. He comes by occasionally to let us know how he’s doing. From homeless to employed and living in his own place in four months- that’s the whole point of the program.– Janie
