When DK and her husband contacted Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), they were unhoused. SSVF was able to find them housing and provide full rental assistance for five months until DK found a job and they started getting back on their feet. SSVF then continued to pay half of their rent and evaluate DK for the Shallow Subsidy program.
The couple were approved for a VA home loan and began looking for a house. They couldn’t find anything here, but they did find an affordable home in Pennsylvania. DK’s employer approved a transfer to their Pennsylvania location and thanks to the Shallow Subsidy program, they had saved enough to fully pay for the move and set up their new home! – Brittany
