Gary Kirchner served as a clerk typist in the Air Force from 1974-1978. He grew up in California and was stationed at Norton Air Force base in San Bernadino. “I’ve had lots of different jobs, but I did a lot of truck driving. I eventually got tired of the west coast and wanted to see something different. I lived in Kentucky and Springdale, Arkansas for a while.
He continued, “I was living in my truck, going to see different places, when my truck got totaled and I ended up here. Little Rock is as far east as I’ve been. I heard about the Day Treatment Center through word of mouth. I went there and they gave me a referral for here. I’m looking for a place to live and I’ve started looking for job; I filled out an application today. I’m going to stay here for while, over in the Cabot area. The staff here is good and it’s good to have a place to stay.”
