Air Force Veteran, IJ* , had recently used SSVF services to find housing. She had gotten a job and everything was going well. But after starting work, her paycheck never arrived. Eventually the job fell through entirely and she was left three months behind in rent and facing eviction.
Because she had used her benefits so recently, it was unclear if SSVF could help. “This is going to be a pleasant surprise for her”, her caseworker told us. “We will be able to pay her back rent and get her one month ahead.”
