Mr. Johnson is a long –time resident of Little Rock and an occasional client of St. Francis House. Eighty years young, he owns his own home and still lives independently. His $750 a month social security income generally covers most of his needs, though he sometimes uses St. Francis House and other food pantries to supplement his food budget.
Recently, a broken leg changed that. Various medical costs took a good chunk of his income, and there wasn’t quite enough to cover the electric bill. That’s when Mr. Johnson came to St. Francis House. The first time he contacted us, we were out of funds for utility help, but we were able to get the company to wait on things turning things off. As soon as we were able, we covered what Mr. Johnson could not. Thanks to your help, the lights are on, and Mr. Johnson can continue his recovery worry free!
