“They were in tears when they called,” Tracy Akines, Community Resource Coordinator said. “They were a family of four and their electricity was going to be cut off. The bill was $400.00 and we were out of utility funds.”
But a simple thing like no money doesn’t stop Mrs. Akines. She called one of our community partners, Daniel Curry at Pulaski Heights UMC. “Once I explained the situation, he went to work. By the end of the day, it was paid. When I called the family back, there were more tears, but this time they were crying for joy!”
