We always love following up with a member of the St. Francis House family, and it’s even better when we can welcome one to our team. Grace Durkes came to St. Francis House in 2018 with her husband Anthony, an Army Veteran, and the three youngest of their four children. Grace has joined the team in our Community Resource Department. “I saw an opening here and thought ‘I love St. Francis House; I’m going to apply!’ ”
The family is currently living in North Little Rock “The boys had a great time when they were here. And of course, they are all so much bigger. And we have our oldest son back with us. He is thirteen and the others are eleven and nine, and the youngest is eight! They are all in school and doing well. Anthony has medical issues that make working full-time difficult, but he is taking classes at Pulaski Tech and working on his VA and Social Security Disability.”
The family is working on finding a place closer to St. Francis House and Pulaski Technical College.“St. Francis house is an amazing place, we felt so welcome and at home, and everyone looked after the boys; it was like they had a dozen aunts and uncles. I’m so glad to be a part of St. Francis House!
